Give more chances to Tamil girls, says Sri Priyanka

The actress, who is from Puducherry, says she is clueless as why K'town filmmakers do not encourage Tamil girls.

Sri Priyanka of Kangaroo fame is in the spotlight for her brilliant portrayal of a local cop who is deployed on security duty, her predicaments in the job and how she solves them intelligently in her upcoming flick Miga Miga Avasaram. The actress, who is from Puducherry, says she is clueless as why K’town filmmakers do not encourage Tamil girls.

“After my initial struggles, I think I have achieved and proved myself with the female centric MMA, thanks to my director Suresh Kamatchi who had the trust in me. Even, Nayanthara got a solid story and role like MMA after a long stint in Tamil cinema.”

All veterans who spoke including Bharathiraja, Bhagyaraj, Cheran, Seeman (who plays a crucial role in MMA) and K. Rajan were heaping laurels on Suresh Kamatchi for touching on a relevant and important subject and Priyanka for nailing the character. Actor Harish of Goripaalayam fame plays the male lead in MMA, the story of which is peened by director Jagan. Ishan Dev has composed the music.

Speaking on the occasion, Bharathiraja said, “Suresh Kamatchi is labelled as a person who creates controversy whenever he speaks. You are not a man unless you speak out on issues and point your finger at the wrongdoers. I think what Suresh does is correct and hence he can direct a film with social relevance. Without too much dialogue, Sri Priyanka has done a fantastic job with her body language and face expressions.”
