Suresh Kumar, former assistant to directors Sasi and Suseenthiran, is all set to step foot in the industry after struggling for 10 years. He will be making his debut with Nagal, a heroine-centric horror film. At a time when directors prefer multiple actors in their films, here is Suresh, who has crafted the story with only one character. Yes, you heard it right!
Nagal tracks the journey of a lady who travels from Theni to Chennai. Speaking to DC, Suresh says, “The events that occur during the travel will form the crux of the story. Actresses Amala Paul, Vedhika, Remya Nambeesan and many more were in consideration for the movie, but we are yet to finalise on one. We will sign on the actress within a week.”
For Suresh, penning a script with only one character was the real challenge. “I worked extremely hard on this film. This is a different attempt and that is why I chose this to be my debut project. Many horror stories have been there, but this film stands apart from the rest because of the single character. I hope my hard work pays off,” he shares.
Cinematographer Prasanna, music director Antony George, editor Lokesh and designer Joseph Jackson, are part of the technical team. Nagal is produced by Manikandan of Charismatic Creations.
