Keerthy Suresh has a lot to look forward to in 2018
Keerthy Suresh has been swiftly scaling the biggest graph in her career with back to back projects. It’s safe to say that the pretty actress has a great line up of films in 2018 and first among them is Thaana Serndha Koottam, alongside Suriya.
Sharing the wonderful moments of shooting with the actor, Keerthy says, “I have been an ardent fan of Suriya sir from my school days. My mother has already acted with his father Sivakumar in three movies. I used to challenge her saying that one day I would pair with his son. I am so happy that my dream to act alongside Suriya sir has come true! He is a reserved person and doesn’t talk much. But when I ask for any suggestion, he’s always there to help me out.”
Speaking about her role in the film, she says, “I don’t have a name in Thaana Serndha Koottam. My character involves humour and surprise elements as well.
I play the role of an orthodox Brahmin girl. I loved the way Vignesh Shivan narrated the script and also liked my characterisation.”
Thaana Serndha Koottam is directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by K.E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green Films.
Karthik, Ramya Krishnan, Senthil, RJ Balaji and many more prominent actors are part of the cast. The film is scheduled for worldwide release for the festive occasion of Pongal.
When asked if Suriya had seen any of her movies and commented anything, she said. “No, not really.”
Veteran actor Karthik, who is busy in his second innings as an actor, plays a crucial role in TSK. Quiz Keerthy’s interactions with him, she quips, “I don’t have any combination scenes with sir. I met him only during the photo shoot. He is my mom’s set and they get along very well!”
We hear that you have turned ultra glamorous for song sequence in TSK. With a smile, she replies, “Really? I think you have seen the teaser and coming to this conclusion... it’s a cute song and you will like it when you watch it fully on screen.”
How do you go about choosing roles, considering TSK is totally a commercial film, a heroine’s role might be less. She admits by saying, “It’s a hero driven film, but Vignesh Shivan has justified my character.”
However, she says that she listens to scripts that come her way and accepts if it’s fascinating in one way or other. “I am doing Nadigaiyar Thilagam, the biopic of Savithri madam and it is a very challenging role. It is the first heroine-oriented script that came to me. And I know reprising Savithri madam is a huge responsibility. I had a lot of apprehensions and doubts when director approached me for the film. He gave me a lot of confidence and said that he is portraying Savithri through me and asked me not to worry.”
Each film gives me different experiences, she added. “When Sandakozhi 2 came to me, I listened to the story, it was awesome and I immediately agreed. But again, being in the shoes of a National Award-winner like Meera Jasmine was a huge task.”
When asked about her high remuneration and Trisha walking out of Saamy 2, she says, “No, my salary package for the film is my usual salary. And, I don’t know the reason for Trisha walking out of the film. You have to ask her only. When the film offer came to me, the first question I asked director Hari sir was whether Trisha is there because she made a hit pair with Vikram. I don’t know what happened later.”
Recently, she was trolled for her look at a promotional event in Hyderabad. “I didn’t want to appear in my usual style and that’s when I decided to try a new look. But people started criticising my look. Initially, I didn’t take it seriously. But later it started hurting me,” she reveals.
