Kingdom Clocks Rs 11 Crore on Day One?
The film has been designed as a dark, intense action drama with minimal focus on love tracks or commercial entertainment.

Vijay Deverakonda’s much-hyped comeback film Kingdom has taken a solid start at the box office, grossing over ₹11 crore plus on its opening day in the Telugu states, according to a leading distributor.
“The film has opened to a good response in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, collecting more than ₹12 crore share in Telugu states. It collected Rs 4 crores share in Nizam region, 5 crore in Andhra and Rs 2 crores in Ceded region. These are rough estimates. It’s a promising beginning for an action-oriented film,” he said. He also noted that the long weekend could further boost collections: “With the extended weekend ahead, the film has a good opportunity to build momentum.”
Despite receiving a mixed response from some quarters, the film has managed to hold audience interest, thanks in part to aggressive promotions by Vijay Deverakonda and the team.
“Kingdom has been sold for ₹37 crore in the two Telugu states. Day one numbers are encouraging, but it needs to pick up further to recover its investment,” the distributor added.
Set in the hostile Sri Lankan islands, Kingdom revolves around tribal smugglers awaiting a messiah to rescue them from their grim reality.
The film has been designed as a dark, intense action drama with minimal focus on love tracks or commercial entertainment. “It’s a film rooted in a shadowy world, and not your typical masala entertainer,” he concluded.
