Khaleja Set For Grand Re-Release On May 30; Mahesh Babu Fans Ecstatic

Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas’s wholesome entertainer Khaleja is all set to hit theatres once again on May 30, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary Superstar Krishna Garu.

Riding high on the current wave of re-releases, Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas’s wholesome entertainer Khaleja is all set to hit theatres once again on May 30, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary Superstar Krishna Garu.

Though the film underperformed during its initial release and was considered a box office disappointment, Khaleja has since evolved into an entertainer, especially among Mahesh Babu’s fanbase. Its sharp dialogues, quirky humor, and unique storyline have aged like fine wine, making it one of the most beloved entries in the actor’s filmography.

Advance bookings for the re-release have been nothing short of sensational. According to BookMyShow, Khaleja is currently clocking over 13,000 ticket sales per hour — a record-breaking feat. To put that in perspective, the previous highest re-release peak was Gabbar Singh, which managed around 5,500 tickets per hour. Khaleja has nearly tripled that figure, a testament to the film’s enduring appeal.

Many fans and critics consider Mahesh Babu’s performance in Khaleja to be his best in the comedy genre. Scenes from the film remain social media favorites, regularly featured in memes and reels, keeping the film relevant even in 2025.

The movie also stars Anushka Shetty as the female lead and Prakash Raj in a powerful antagonist role. The music, composed by Mani Sharma, still resonates with fans.

While Mahesh Babu’s recent outings like Guntur Kaaram and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu received a mixed response, re-releases of his earlier hits such as Pokiri and Murari have collected ₹5–6 crore, according to distributors. With Khaleja now smashing re-release booking records, expectations are soaring once again.
