Keerthy Suresh Is Sorry If Chiranjeevi's Fans Are Hurt

Young actress Keerthy Suresh faced strong backlash from Megastar Chiranjeevi’s fans almost a year ago for a comment she made during film promotions. While promoting her film Raghu Thatha, she was asked who she thought was the better dancer between Vijay and Chiranjeevi. She instantly replied that Vijay was the better dancer.

The clip went viral and triggered heavy trolling from Chiranjeevi’s fans, eventually escalating into a full-blown fan war between Vijay’s and Chiru’s respective fanbases. Now, during the Hyderabad promotions of her upcoming release Revolver Rita, Keerthy has responded to the controversy.

Speaking at the event, she said, “Chiranjeevi garu knows how big a fan I am. He used to ask me about my favourite actor, dancer, and movie. Even if I didn’t take his name, he was always supportive and respected my choices. I am deeply sorry if I hurt his fans. It was never intentional.”

Explaining further, she added, “I have watched Vijay garu much more, and since I had to answer immediately, I mentioned his name. No one is lesser than the other; both are legends in their industries. If anyone felt offended, I apologise.”

However, a producer, on condition of anonymity, weighed in on the long-running debate. “Chiranjeevi is one of the best dancers in Indian cinema, celebrated for his energetic and graceful movements. He made even tricky dance steps look easy in films like Rowdy Alludu, Hitler, Indra, Tagore, and hundreds of songs over the last four decades. He even received recognition from Guinness World Records, which includes 24,000 dance moves in 537 songs across 156 films — it’s unmatched,” he said.

He further acknowledged Vijay’s dancing abilities, saying, “Vijay is a good dancer and has delivered impressive moves in films like Beast, Leo, and GOAT. But Telugu superstars like Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, and even Ram Charan are carrying forward the legacy of ‘dancing stars’ in Tollywood. They are far ahead of their Kollywood counterparts because of their intricate and stylish dance moves.”
