Jani Master Is Jubilant After His Wife Wins Union Elections

Even as criticism mounts against AR Rahman and the team of Peddi for collaborating with choreographer Jani Master, his wife Ayesha — popularly known as Sumalatha — has secured a major victory in the Telugu Film and TV Dancers and Dance Directors Association elections. She has now officially assumed office as the President of the body.

Jani took to social media to share a video capturing the celebratory scenes. In the clip, he invites Sumalatha onto the stage and kisses her as supporters cheer loudly. Both are seen wearing garlands while union members applaud the win. Sumalatha remains composed and simply claps, while Jani acknowledges the crowd with folded hands, a thumbs-up, and handshakes.

While posting the video, Jani congratulated his wife and thanked the members for their support. He wrote, “We promise to live up to your expectations and ensure that we always provide the very best for you.”

Another video uploaded by Chinna Srisailam Yadav, father of Jubilee Hills MLA-elect Naveen Yadav, shows him felicitating both Jani and Ayesha, despite the election victory being hers. He also mentioned that Ayesha secured the post with a 228-vote majority.

Jani’s celebratory appearance comes at a time when he continues to face a POCSO case filed at the Raidurgam Police Station in Hyderabad in September 2024.
