India’s Legendary Rock Band Parikrama Celebrates 35 Years with Inside My Skin

Parikrama, India’s pioneering rock band, marks an incredible milestone — three and a half decades of shaping the Indian rock landscape with electrifying performances and timeless hits. Since their formation in 1991, they have established themselves as one of Asia’s most influential and celebrated groups, renowned for their energetic shows and groundbreaking music.
To commemorate this special occasion, Parikrama is excited to share their latest single, “Inside My Skin”, released today on their 35th anniversary. This track stands out as one of their most intense and hard-hitting compositions, embodying their relentless spirit and musical evolution.
The song originated from a riff by guitarist Saurabh, which naturally evolved into one of their most powerful releases to date. Band legend Subir Malik shares, “This song is a hardcore, in-your-face rock piece. It wasn’t crafted with that intention; it simply emerged that way. When Saurabh played that riff, everyone connected with it instantly, and the song was born. It truly reflects our passion and intensity.”
Over the years, Parikrama has taken their music beyond borders, sharing stages with icons like Iron Maiden at the Download Festival in England. Their song “But It Rained” (2001) was recognized in Rolling Stone India’s “25 Greatest Indian Rock Songs of the Last 30+ Years,” cementing their legacy.
The band’s lineup features legendary musicians including Nitin Malik (vocals), the late Sonam Sherpa (guitars) — whose soulful solos remain etched in fans’ memories — Saurabh Chaudhry (guitars), Abhishek Mittal (guitars) along with Subir Malik on keyboards, Gaurav Balani on bass, Srijan Mahajan on drums, and talented collaborators such as violinist Suhail Ali Khan, percussionist Shambu Nath, flutist Shashank Singhania, and sitar maestro Dhruv Bedi.
This release not only celebrates their illustrious past but also signals a fresh chapter in their musical journey — one characterized by relentless creativity and passion for rock.
