How Akshay Kumar Played Cupid For Asin, Rahul Sharma

She started her career at the age of 15 with a Malayalam movie, Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka, in 2001. After becoming a successful actress in South India, she tried to step ahead and make her mark in Bollywood.

She debuted in the Hindi film industry with a blockbuster film of its time, Ghajini, opposite Amir Khan in 2008.

She immediately became popular and delivered many hit films in Bollywood.

However, Asin left acting after getting married to Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma in 2015.

In a podcast with YouTuber Raj Shamani, Rahul Sharma called Akshay Kumar Cupid in their love story.

While talking about how he met his wife, Asin, Sharma said, "Of course, Cupid was our great friend Akshay Kumar. We were going for an India vs. Pakistan match; there was a movie coming up, which was Housefull 2, and she was acting in the movie. Then Akshay said, There's this movie coming; we want to promote the movie, and since Micromax was the sponsor of the Asia Cup, it was happening in Dhaka, Bangladesh."

Later on, the Housefull 2 cast joined Shama in Dhaka for movie promotions. During the entire trip, Asin and Rahul had a very basic interaction. Meanwhile, later Akshay told Rahul, "This is a girl who is very, very simple, very down-to-earth, very basic, and very similar to you. Comes, just works and goes back, very professional, and the family is very similar; the mother is a doctor, and the father is into services, so fantastic."

"Then he (Akshay) gave her (Asin's) number to me and my number to her.” When asked why, Rahul replied, “Because he felt, you know, there is something common in both of us; we both come from the same value and background, and that's why," Rahul shared.

The podcast was released a couple of months ago, but the clip has been resurfaced and is going viral, leaving fans mesmerized with their love story.

At present, Asin and Rahul have been happily married for 9 years with a 7-year-old daughter, Arin.
