The webslinger has officially taken over Indian cinemas as Spider-Man: Brand New Day swung onto screens on July 30, 2026. Serving as the 38th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the film marks the high-profile return of Tom Holland and Zendaya in the leads, under the direction of Destin Daniel Cretton. Backed by an ensemble cast, the film's openings are superb at the Indian box office.
The craze surrounding the release across India reached a zenith. Theaters across metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad witnessed huge crowds lined up for midnight and early morning screenings. Die-hard Marvel enthusiasts flooded multiplexes dressed in full Spidey costumes, waving banners, and chanting in celebration inside packed auditoriums. Tickets were sold out days in advance across premium 3D and IMAX screens.
This unprecedented fan frenzy translated into historic numbers at the box office. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the superhero adventure staged a flying start by generating ₹60.60 crore net and ₹74.46 crore gross on its opening day alone. With 17,250 shows organized nationwide, the film registered an extraordinary average occupancy of 72.3%. By achieving these staggering figures, Spider-Man: Brand New Day comfortably outstripped recent major releases like The Odyssey, which gathered ₹17.40 crore net on its opening day, while also shattering the long-held opening day record set by Avengers: Endgame in the Indian market.
The impressive revenue earnings highlighted Spider-Man's pan-India appeal across multiple language markets. The original English release spearheaded the charge with ₹32.25 crore net. The Hindi dub performed exceptionally well, contributing ₹22 crore net to the overall total. Southern markets added further strength, with the Telugu version taking in ₹3.25 crore net and the Tamil dub adding ₹3 crore net, supplemented by ₹7 lakh from Malayalam and ₹3 lakh from Kannada screenings. With strong word-of-mouth momentum, the blockbuster is expected to do even better over the weekend.
