On his birthday Dhanush was given the tag of ‘Ilaya Superstar’ by producer Kalaipuli Thanu, who in fact had given the ‘Superstar’ title to his father-in-law Rajinikanth when he released Bhairavi in 1978. It is learnt that Dhanush turned it down politely at the birthday bash he had hosted for close friends and family.
Meanwhile, the first look poster of Dhanush’s upcoming film Pattas, sans ‘Ilaya Superstar’ prefix, was released to coincide with his birthday in which he looks funky with bright colours splashed behind him is going viral.
Dhanush will be seen playing dual roles of father and son where the son’s name is Pattas and said to revolve around a martial art that was practiced by the Cholas even before Kalari. Durai Senthilkumar who earlier did Kodi with Dhanush, wields the megaphone. Mehreen Pirzada, last seen in a blink-n-miss role in Vijay Devarakonda’s Nota, will play the female
lead. After 13 years, Sneha will team up with Dhanush once again. Naveen Chandra essays the antagonist. Bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films, Pattas has Vivek-Mervin composing the music.
