Christopher Nolan banned water bottles, chairs on set
Actor Mark Rylance revealed that Dunkirk director Christopher Nolan banned water bottles and chairs on the sets of the movie. “He doesn’t like having chairs on set for actors or bottles of water, he’s very particular,” he told the Independent.co.uk.
Mark’s co-star Barry Keoghan went on to explain the reason behind Nolan’s decision. “They’re distractions — the noise of (the bottles), they’re like toys almost. The lack of chairs keeps you on your toes, literally,” he said, reported JustJared.com.
Mark also informed that Nolan is “very particular about using everything real in front of the camera, so there were a lot of old techniques used in this film to make it look real. The flames on the water and men swimming in them; he really wants to minimise the amount of post-production and CGI.
