Mumbai: Britney Spears’ last performance to ‘Gimme More’ at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2007 had received flak and the 34-year-old popstar returned to the same stage after a substantial gap of nine years, looking stunning in a yellow sequined leotard.

Her album ‘Glory’ had released on 26 August and the track ‘Make Me’ from it was out few weeks back, and there were no prizes for guessing that Britney would be performing to the number. Rapper G-Eazy, who has also given his voice in the song, made an entry midway into Britney’s performance.

The night, however, belonged to Beyonce, as her song ‘Formation’ won numerous awards along with the Video of the Year award and her performance just before Britney's was also appreciated. While the critics point out that Britney was overshadowed by Beyonce, fans of Britney would just be happy with her ‘redemption’ on the big stage.
