Norwegian DJ, songwriter and record producer Kygo recently re-recorded Whitney Houston’s iconic song, Higher Love.
Whitney Houston may be no more, but her music lives on! Justjared.com reports that nearly 30 years after she recorded a cover of Steve Winwood’s song Higher Love, Norwegian DJ, songwriter and record producer Kygo teamed up with the Whitney Houston Estate to re-master the recording.
“The current cultural environment has been thirsty for something uplifting and inspiring,” says Whitney’s sister-in-law Pat Houston, adding, “Who better to inspire than Whitney, the most exhilarating vocalist of all time?”
Apparently, Kygo was their first choice. “He put his spin on it and did a fantastic job,” she adds. Meanwhile, Kygo says, “I was trying to make it sound like something that she would’ve done, but also something that’s my style.”
