Chris Cornell has finally been laid to rest at the Hollywood Forever crematorium, right next to the gravestone of another rock legend and Chris’s dear friend, Johnny Ramone. TMZ.com reports that the musician’s ashes were buried at the gravesite on Friday, just 12 feet away from Ramone’s lead guitarist’s monument. Chris was very close to Ramone and referred to him as “one of rock’s most indestructible icons.”
The adjacent plot was purchased by Chris’ family for 210 thousand dollars and many of the late musician’s friends and family members lined the site to pay their respects. Sources have said that a monument for Chris would be placed there, a lot like Ramone’s, but smaller.
