If Jamie Foxx has won an Academy Award, a large chunk of the credit goes to Oprah Winfrey. TMZ.com reports that the actor, who bagged an Oscar for the movie Ray in 2009, confessed on The Howard Stern Show that he used to party and drink way too much until 2005, when Oprah staged an intervention.
She told Jamie that he was ruining his career, and that it was high time that he straightened up, and said, “All of this gallivanting and all this kind of s**t that’s not what you want to do. I want to take you somewhere.” The intervention also involved Quincy Jones, Sidney Poitier and a few other actors, who helped Jamie sober up, and pushed him towards living a more responsible life. It is unclear whether he has ever been to rehab.
