Matt Damon knew that Harvey Weinstein was a womaniser
Matt Damon and George Clooney gave an extensive interview about Harvey Weinstein while promoting their new film Suburbicon.
According to reports in JustJared.com, both the actors admitted they knew Weinstein was a “bully” and “womaniser” who would brag about sleeping with famous actresses, but claimed they had no idea about the level of sexual harassment that allegedly took place. Matt, did, however, confess that he knew the film mogul had sexually harassed Gwyneth Paltrow before she filmed the 1996 adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma for Miramax.
“You had to spend about five minutes with him to know that he was a bully and he was intimidating…that was his whole kind of M.O,” Matt said, adding, “I knew the story about Gwyneth (being sexually harassed by him) from Ben (Affleck),because he was with her after Brad (Pitt). I never talked to Gwyneth about it. Ben told me. I knew that they had come to whatever agreement or understanding. He treated her incredibly respectfully. Always,” Matt continued.
Gwyneth came forward about being sexually harassed by Weinstein and got her boyfriend at the time, Brad, involved.
