Taylor Swift announced her new song The Archer on July 23 via Instagram Live. As per Eonline, the song will be track five on her upcoming 18-track album, Lover, and is co-produced by her and Jack Antonoff. Lover will be available on August 23.
During her Instagram Live, done from her new music video’s sets, Taylor told her followers why she decided to first drop the fifth in line on the album. “I really wanted to give you track five before the album came out. As I was making albums, I was putting a very vulnerable, personal, honest, emotional song as track five,” she said. The song appears to be a go-ahead to Swift’s relationship with actor Joe Alwyn, her long-time love.
But before Taylor had revealed her song, it was announced she’d earned 10 nominations for this year’s 2019 MTV Video Music Awards. Good things coming her way, we say!
