Michael Lotief\'s cancer battle didn\'t stop him from staying on top of his game

Michael Lotief led a successful softball program at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette for 17 years. But for the past 30 years, he is battling throat cancer. However, that never stopped him in giving his best in his field of work. matter how hard things may get.

Some days have been tough for Michael but he always kept going on. He has been an inspiration to many other cancer patients and survivors. Holly Rowe from ESPN included him in a national presentation on cancer battles. He was honoured that she included a photo of him with the words, “When things get hard, just keep going.”

Because of his dedication, determination and passion towards his work, he never gave up. Even on difficult days of struggles with his health, he kept working on the field and coached his softball team.
He believes in leading a positive life and that attitude helped him encourage each of his players. His optimism helped his team to keep their focus on winning

Coach Lotief has worked with many players during his years as a women’s softball coach at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. He led them to victory after victory, securing the highest ratio of wins in the school’s history. What people tend to forget, or even do not know, is he did that all while battling throat cancer.
