Whitney Houston's Emmy is not for sale!

The auction is scheduled for Friday with someone bidding $10,000 for it online already.

The Television Academy has just blocked Heritage Auctions from selling late singer and actress Whitney Houston’s Emmy award by filing a lawsuit accusing them of theft. TMZ.com reports that the Academy’s court docs include a photograph of a sticker that’s on the bottom of every Emmy award given out between 1978 and 1994, that say, “If a recipient or the recipient’s heir or successor in interest proposes to sell otherwise dispose of the Emmy statuette, such persons shall be obligated to return the statuette to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences...” Heritage, meanwhile, claims that the Academy’s only doing this to bully the Houston family. The auction is scheduled for Friday with someone bidding $10,000 for it online already.
