During her concert at her home town, Katy Perry decided to treat the crowd with free booze! But, she seemed to have regretted it immediately as people started deserting the concert floor and hitting the bar instead.
Katy performed on Saturday night at the Santa Barbara Bowl for what she dubbed Witness: Coming Home — a benefit show to help relief efforts for the wildfires and mudslides in the area this year. All ticket sales were donated, including Katy’s share, so she essentially did the show for free!
Toward the end of the performance, Katy offered to buy the entire audience drinks, according to eyewitnesses. Soon enough, many in the crowd immediately hit the bar.
Katy then tried to call them back in to catch the rest of the show, but it was too late. Santa Barbara Bowl’s general manager, Rick Boller, told TMZ.com that her offer amounted to about one free drink per person to anyone who swung by, but there’s no word yet on how much the complete cost was.
