Prince was my everything: Ex-wife Mayte Garcia
Los Angeles: Singer Prince's ex-spouse Mayte Gracia says she is "beyond deeply saddened and devastated" by his death but is taking comfort with the fact he is with their baby son, who died just a week after he was born in 1996.
The 57-year-old singer was found dead at his Paisley Park estate yesterday and Garcia, who he wed in 1996, says the iconic star was her "everything," reported People magazine.
She said in a statement through her manager Gladys Gonzalez, "I can't even think of the words of what I'm feeling. This man was my everything, we had a family. I am beyond deeply saddened and devastated." Prince and Gracia were devastated when their only child, Boy Gregory, was born with rare genetic disorder Pfeiffer syndrome and died just a week after he was born.
"I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now," Gracia said. The pair divorced in 2000. Prince's second wife, Manuela Testolini, who he wed in 2001 before divorcing her five years later, is not coping well with the tragic news.
"I'm not OK," she said. An official cause of death for the 'Beautiful Ones' singer has not yet been revealed, but he was taken to hospital with flu symptoms earlier this month.
