Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin dead
Star Trek actor, Anton Yelchin, who starred as Chekov in Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, and the upcoming film Star Trek Beyond, died at the age of 27. Anton was apparently killed after getting pinned by his own car. According to TMZ.com, Anton’s friend reportedly got worried when he didn’t show up to a meeting, so he went to his house in San Fernando Valley and found him ‘pinned between his car and a brick mailbox’.
The local police reported that the engine of the car was still running and it was in neutral. They added that they do not suspect any foul play, according to JustJared.com.
Meanwhile, the cast of the Star Trek franchise is mourning the loss of Anton. Actor Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the series, wrote on Instagram, “Our dear friend, our comrade, our Anton. One of the most open and intellectually curious people I have ever had the pleasure to know. So enormously talented and generous of heart and wise beyond his years, gone before his time. All love and strength to his family at this impossible time of grief.”
