In September 2016, Facebook users spotted a fraudulent message claiming the actor was found dead at his home. According to TheSun.co.uk, the return of the hoax appears to have been sparked by the release of a poster for Creed II — the next installment in the Rocky series.
This Facebook message was linked to a website known for creating and sharing celebrity death hoaxes. The site was responsible for previous death hoaxes involving Vin Diesel, Nicolas Cage, Jim Carrey and Angelina Jolie. Stallone confirmed on social media that he was alive and urged his fans to ignore stupidity. “Remember to always grab life by the throat and do not let go until you succeed,” he said.
