Pop star Demi Lovato, who has been vocal about her past struggles with alcohol, has donated thousands of dollars to various charities, to celebrate five years of sobriety. According to TMZ.com, Demi, who celebrated the anniversary last Thursday, began driving around Los Angeles to various charities and dropping off cheques on Saturday. One such organisation was animal charity Ace Of Hearts, whose owner reportedly said that Demi personally dropped off a cheque for $5,000 at her home, and told Kari that she was spending the day “giving back”. Demi wrote on Facebook on Thursday, “I’m so proud of myself but I couldn’t have done it without my higher power (God), my family, friend and everyone else who supported me. (sic)”
