After using the Oscars this past year as a platform to raise awareness about climate change, Leonardo DiCaprio’s taking his campaign to Hollywood — with reports saying the actor is bringing global warming-fighting superhero Captain Planet to life, with a live action film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Leo’s Appian Way Productions is in talks with Jono Matt and Scream Queens actor Glen Powell to write the script for the film.
A ‘first look’ deal was reportedly already inked with Paramount in March. Sources say that the story will be set years after the adventures of the hit ’90s cartoon show, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, with the cap’ now redundant and in need of the kids who power him with their five element-based rings of power.
