Lady Gaga's trauma is her darkness'

The singer opens up about battling negative thoughts Pop star Lady Gaga has opened up in an interview about her mental state, saying that sometimes trauma gets in the way of creating new music. Speaking with the New York Times, Gaga said, “I get blocked by my own trauma sometimes. The darkness, the loop of negative thoughts on repeat, clamours and interferes with the music I hear in my head.”

She added, “When I’m making music, I can hear all the parts, all the instruments. I can hear what it should be.” The Poker Face singer is releasing her fifth studio album this week, which is titled Joanne — along with which she is also recording a documentary for the project’s release, with the same title.
