The Emmy Awards this year not only witnessed a number of brilliant nominations but also a quite emotional marriage proposal on stage. According to People.com, Glenn Weiss went down on one knee and asked his long-time partner, Jan Svendsen, to marry him.
The Oscar winning director, as a part of his acceptance speech, said, “Mom always believed in finding the sunshine in things, and she adored my girlfriend Jan. Jan, you are the sunshine in my life. And mom was right, don’t ever let go of your sunshine. You wonder why I don’t like to call you my girlfriend because I want to call you my wife.” The crowd shrieked with encouragement as Jan walked up to the stage, clearly very emotional with the surprise proposal.
