Prince's record label is suing Jay Z
Prince’s record label has sued Jay Z’s company for illegally streaming every song that the late singer ever released, through Tidal.
According to TMZ.com, Prince’s NPG Records will be suing Roc Nation for going against an agreement that Prince had signed before his death. The agreement stated that Roc Nation could stream, through Tidal, the last album that Prince released before his death — Hit N Run: Phase 1. But NPG said that Roc Nation decided to stream all of Prince’s songs and started doing that on the Purple Rain singer’s 58th birthday, June 7, 2016.
NPG will now sue Roc Nation for copyright infringement and will also block any streaming of Prince’s music apart from the last album.
However the amount for which they are being sued hasn’t been disclosed, but sources reveal that it will be huge.
