Kendall Jenner makes Jean Paul Gaultier trend
Hold onto your vintage Jean Paul Gaultier (JPG), folks! Last night in New York City, Kendall Jenner stepped out in a sheer, body-skimming ensemble with an eagle printed across the long-sleeve shirt and matching skirt from NN Officiel Vintage. The piece was from the JPG’s Soleil line, known for its semi-sheer pieces. For a full late-’90s’ moment, Kendal paired the piece with a burgundy shoulder bag by The Row and a pair of Yeezy naked heels.
Kendal has long been a fan of JPG mesh pieces, particularly their boldly printed skirt sets and t-shirts. (Her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, even borrowed one such tee from her.) The biggest JPG collector in the family, however, is Kim Kardashian. The reality television star and Skims founder has worn JPG’s rare cyberdot pieces as well as dragon-print sets from the Spring-1994 runway.
Currently, sheer JPG pieces go for over $300 for a simple shirt to almost $10,000 for a more intricate piece, like a butterfly-print mesh dress. There are a few versions of Jenner’s eagle set available online, including a T-shirt of the same print for $995 on 1stdibs, an online marketplace selling luxury items. With Kendal wearing another rare JPG piece, the prices are only set to go up.
