What do you say when you meet former President Barack Obama? If you’re Anna Kendrick, you use colourful language.
The A Simple Favor actress, who was recently on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, revealed that she accidentally called Obama an “a**h***” during an intimate campaign event with him in Los Angeles back in 2012, reports EOnline.com. This happened after Obama called out Kendrick while discussing the economy and the recession, noting to the crowd of 30 how Up in the Air her 2009 movie was one of his favourites and tackled both topics. After his speech, Obama apologised to Kendrick one-on-one, telling her, “I hope I didn’t embarrass you earlier?” She responded with her instinctual wit. “Yeah, you’re such an a**h***,” the 33-year-old star said.
The president also brought up that Kendrick is from Maine, a commonality she had with a Secret Service agent who she talked to earlier at the event. Kendrick said, “Yeah, and I was the first one to arrive, too.” Obama joked and replied, “Oh, are people from Maine really punctual?” She quipped, “Yeah, you didn’t know that? You’re the president!” Kendrick delivered a double whammy, which was enough to make Obama laugh pretty hard.
