Kristen Stewart rebels again

The event has had a strict rule policy for years that years actresses must only wear high heels.

The strict dress code at the Cannes red carpet that has been an issue of controversy has once again been challenged by Kristen Stewart. The Twilight actress made a statement on the red carpet on Monday night, removing her heels, seemingly in protest at the strict dress code.

The event has had a strict rule policy for years that years actresses must only wear high heels.

Stewart took off her black heels in front of the photographers, turning heads, and climbed the stairs barefoot.

However, she did wear her high heels for part of the red carpet, reports The Telegraph.

Back in 2015 too, she has her displeasure known by sticking a middle finger to the paparazzi after putting on the required shoes. She had then said, “Things have to change immediately.

“It has become really obvious that if (a man and I) were walking the red carpet together and someone stopped me and said, ‘Excuse me, young lady, you’re not wearing heels. You cannot come in.’ Then (I’m going to say), 'Neither is my friend. Does he have to wear heels?’ It can work both ways. It’s just like you simply cannot ask me to do something that you are not asking him. I get the black-tie thing but you should be able to do either version — flats or heels.”
