Jesse Williams talks about diversity in Hollywood
People thought that they had to whitewash every movie to make people go and see it, but that's statistically bullshit.
In a recent interview with the Hunger magazine, Jesse Williams opened up about Hollywood whitewashing.
“People thought that they had to whitewash every movie to make people go and see it, but that’s statistically bullshit,” Jesse said, reported JustJared.com. “The more diverse a movie is the more money it makes — statistically.”
“I don’t, however, think that celebrities have an obligation to do anything,” he added. “I feel like I have an obligation because I’ve been doing this for a long time, but I don’t impose that on other people.”
The Grey’s Anatomy star has campaigned for civil liberties for most of his life and gave one of the most powerful speeches of the year during his Humanitarian Award acceptance speech at the BET Awards.
