Jay-Z skipped royalties

According to the doucments, things sailed smoothly until November 2008, which is when Herbert claims was the last time he got paid.

Jay-Z apparently struck a deal with a music biz veteran Raynard Herbert, agreeing to pay him royalties for Jay-Z’s debut studio album. But the cheques allegedly stopped coming almost 10 years back, reports TMZ.com. Raynard Herbert claims that he used his connections to help Jay’s Roc-A-Fella distribution in 1995. This led to an agreement that Herbert would get paid one per cent of the sales of the famed Reasonable Doubt album.

He apparently reached out to Jay-Z in May 2010, but to no avail. So he is suing to get what he believes he is owed plus damages, interest and extra fees.
