The Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy has finally confirmed that the late Carrie Fisher will not appear in Star Wars: Episode IX. “Sadly, Carrie will not be in nine. But we will see a lot of Carrie in eight, (sic)” Kathleen said, as reported by JustJared.com. Todd Fisher, Carrie’s brother, had previously claimed that he had given Disney permission to use recent footage of Carrie for the ninth film, but it looks like that is not the case.
Meanwhile, Rian Johnson, director of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, revealed that Carrie helped him re-write the movie’s screenplay. According to Independent.co.uk, Rian said, “I love her so much. I just adore her. I connected with her first and foremost as a writer. She was an incredible writer, with an incredible mind.”
