Hugh Jackman honoured with Order of Australia medal!

He was honoured with the award for his service to the performing arts and for his work as an advocate for poverty eradication.

Actor Hugh Jackman was recently won the Order of Australia at the Government House in Melbourne, Australia. As per reports in Justjared, the Wolverine actor was honoured with the award for his service to the performing arts and for his work as an advocate for poverty eradication. His wife Deborra Lee Furness was in attendance at the ceremony.

Later, Hugh took to Instagram to thank every one of his fans, followers and supporters who’d encouraged him through the years.

“On this occasion, I am reminded that I share the incredible honour with my parents, my siblings, my friends and, especially, with Deb, Oscar and Ava. There are countless teachers, coaches and mentors who have taught and inspired me along the way. I will forever be in their debt. It is humbling to be amongst so many great Australians who have outstanding achievements in so many fields. Thank you to the Governor General (sic),” Hugh wrote along with a post on his social media account.
