Selena Gomez broke down on stage following the death of her friend, Christina Grimmie, who was shot dead at a concert. Selena was performing at Miami, as part of her Revival Tour.
“When she was 14, we met her, and my parents and I signed her,” Gomez said after her performance of her song Nobody during her concert. She added, “One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her. And I think it’s not about a religion and it’s not about good deeds. It’s just that she had faith, and I don’t really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this next song to her.”
Gomez then sang a rendition of Hillsong’s Transfiguration, to which the crowd shined their phone lights up to the sky, reported EOnline.com.
Earlier, Selena shared a black-and-white photo of her and Christina on Twitter. “My heart is absolutely broken. I miss you Christina,” she had captioned it.
