Joe Perry responsive after onstage collapse

Perry will be unable to perform at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Florida.

Aerosmith’s lead guitarist Joe Perry had collapsed onstage on Saturday after performing the hit Walk This Way. But the veteran musician is alert and responsive after being hospitalised the same night, reports People.com.

“Following a guest performance during Billy Joel’s show last night at Madison Square Garden, Joe Perry experienced shortness of breath and was treated backstage by paramedics who gave the guitarist oxygen and used a tracheal tube to clear his airway before taking him to a hospital,” a rep for the Aerosmith guitarist said in a statement. Perry will be unable to perform at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Florida, but is hoping to hit the road again for another tour later this month.
