For the first time in five years, rapper Kanye West sat down for an interview about his 2016 hospitalisation, decision to speak out in support of President Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian and living with bipolar disorder, reports EOnline.com.

Talking about mental health awareness, the rapper said, “I think it’s important for us to have open conversations about mental health especially with me being black. Because we never had therapists in the black community. There are times where at least I’m happy that I know I’m bipolar.”

West’s biggest lesson he wanted to share, “People need to be able to express themselves without fear or judgement.”
