It’s a hard time for country music fans around the world as they are mourning the loss of the legendary Glen Campbell.
The musical sensation, whose album Rhinestone Cowboy became very popular, passed away on Tuesday, losing his battle to Alzheimer’s disease.
A statement on his website read, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and legendary singer and guitarist, Glen Travis Campbell, at the age of 81, following his long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.”
Kim Campbell, the late singer’s wife, also shared a statement that read, “The family appreciates your prayers and respect for their privacy at this time.”
In his six-decade-long career, Glen sold more than 45 million records. He even sold more than the Beatles in 1968!
