Taylor Swift has taken another political stand, this time advocating for LGBTQ residents in Tennessee. According to reports on EOnline.com, the songstress donated $113,000 to the Tennessee Equality Project, an LGBTQ advocacy group.
The organisation has been actively fighting a series of bills in the state, including one that permits adoption agencies to discriminate against same-sex couples based on religious beliefs.
Taylor also penned a note about why she felt so “inspired by the work” they do. Chris Sanders, who is TEP’s executive director, posted a photo of Swift’s letter on the organisation’s Facebook page and praised the singer for her gift.
