Kashmir dropped from Mission: Impossible Fallout even before CBFC complained

Apparently, two dramatic sequences were also cut before the film was sent out to censor boards across the world.

Though the Central Board of Film Certification has had all references to Kashmir removed from the Hollywood film Mission: Impossible — Fallout, it seems the makers dropped several scenes even before sending the film to the board, to avoid accusations of spreading political disinformation.

A source close to the project reveals, “The makers of Mission: Impossible — Fallout wanted to avoid references to Kashmir as far as possible. All road signs and names of places in the valley were removed during post-production and editing.”

Apparently, two dramatic sequences were also cut before the film was sent out to censor boards across the world.

“One was a shootout at a check post, in which Kashmiri citizens were shown being gunned down. And the other was a lengthy chase sequence featuring actress Vanessa Kirby. The MI team didn’t want to get the politics of the valley wrong. So they removed the two key sequences. That they still managed to get certain key geographical details wrong, is another matter,” the source adds.
