There’s been a lot of speculation after Ben Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Garner, about his alcoholism. Fans are wondering what caused it, and it seems like the actor’s own father has some answers! Talking to Grazia magazine, Timothy Affleck, Ben’s dad blamed his son’s stardom for what’s happened to him.
Timothy said, “It has taken a toll on both my sons. Hollywood is a disgusting place. I think that’s been a major factor in Ben’s drinking. You’re kind of forced to develop a persona that is hard to shed and go home to your family. It affects your whole life. I think that’s one of the dangers of the film industry.”
