Jada Pinkett Smith is upset about R. Kelly's record sales
Jada Pinkett Smith is understandably pissed about the spike in the record sales of RnB and hip-hop singer R.Kelly amidst the release of the documentary — Lifetime docuseries — that talks about sexual assault allegations against him, reports TMZ.com.
And now Jada is wondering out loud if the lives and testimonies of black women in the industry actually matter. The actress posted a video on Sunday wondering how and why the sales of Kelly’s records have spiked despite the shocking allegations made against the artist for being a child predator.
R. Kelly has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault and this is not recent. The singer was embroiled in a controversy about reportedly marrying singer Aaliyah when she was under-age and writing a song for her with adult content that was titled Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. People in the documentary have also spoken about how they had witnessed sexual relations between Kelly and Aaliyah, when the latter was only 15, while Kelly was an adult.
