It is not often that we get to see a softer side of Simon Cowell. During his search for talent on X Factor U.K., the judge was pleasantly surprised by his family. In between the auditions, Simon received a special gift from girlfriend Lauren Silverman and their son Eric. “You made a card?” Simon asked his son who couldn’t stop jumping up and down with excitement. He continued, “Have you turned into a bird? You drew me a painting? Why are you trying to fly?” What one couldn’t miss was how Simon’s face lit up as he read his present. His fellow judges including Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger too couldn’t get enough of the special visitor.
Simon previously admitted to EOnline.com that he wasn’t sure how he would do at fatherhood. “I had no idea what it was going to feel like to be a dad and I was always nervous about babies. I didn’t know what to do with them. But actually, when you see someone, day by day becoming, you know, more smart and doing different things and recognising you and now talking, I mean...it’s an incredible feeling,” he said, adding, “He does actually love music. He is addicted to The Jungle Book. I have now heard Bare Necessities and I Want to Be Like You probably 1,000 times this year.” (sic)
