Rihanna to help Haitian artisans

Rihanna is collaborating with Parsons School of Design in New York City, fashion designer Donna Karan and her Urban Zen Foundation, and Haitian artisans to develop a new merchandise line. The collection is for the Work singer’s Clara Lionel Foundation in Haiti, reports ETCanada.com.

“We are ecstatic that our students will have the opportunity to work with and develop a merchandise line for Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation, that, like Parsons, shares a strong commitment to creating positive social change,” said Alison Mears from the design school.

The team will utilise local sustainable practices and healthier materials to create products that will benefit Haiti and Rihanna’s foundation. The singer is set to be honoured at Parsons Benefit event later this month in New York.
