Lena Dunham pens apology
Lena Dunham apologised to Odell Beckham Jr. after facing criticism for what many considered were reverse-sexist comments made against the player, according to EOnline.com. At the Met Gala earlier this year, Lena claimed Odell refused to speak to her throughout the evening. The Girls star spoke about how she imagined Odell’s reaction. She said, “He looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards. The vibe was very much like, ‘Do I want to f*ck it? Is it wearing a tuxedo. I’m going to go back to my cell phone’.”
Following an onslaught of Internet hate, Lena explained herself on Instagram: “I owe Odell Beckam Jr. an apology. Despite my moments of bravado, I struggle at industry events with the sense that I don’t rep a certain standard of beauty and so when I show up to the Met Ball surrounded by models and swan-like actresses it’s hard not to feel like a sack of flaming garbage. I’m sorry. OBJ has every right to be on his cell phone and may also just be shy. I shouldn’t have acted like I did,” Dunham said.
