The Shape of You hit-maker has officially stopped using Twitter due to a constant stream of cruel comments that he has been receiving. Speaking to The Sun, Ed said, “I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’ s why I’ve come off it. The head-f**k for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”
However, his Twitter handle, where he has 19.1 million followers so far, remains open. He still uses other social media platforms like Instagram, however, which automatically generates Tweets sharing the photos that he uploads on it. The last time that he posted on the site was to set the record straight about his Glastonbury performance.
