Anupam Kher nominated for BAFTA
The actor has been nominated for his performance as a schizophreniac father Jagjit in The Boy With The Topknot.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher is back in news and for a good reason. Currently the chairman of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), the actor has been nominated for British Academy Television Award (BAFTA) in the best supporting actor category.
The actor received the nominated for his performance as a schizophrenic father Jagjit in The Boy With The Topknot. “Thank you for the nomination. I feel honoured and humbled (sic),” Anupam tweeted after the announcement.
The Boy With The Topknot is based on the memoir of British sikh Sathnam Sanghera. The story shows his family history, growing up in Wolverhampton, and his discovery of his father and sister’s schizophrenic behaviour. Anupam stars as the father, British actor Sacha Dhawan — who you might recognise from the TV comedy Outsourced — plays Sathnam.
Anupam has been nominated alongside Adrian Dunbar (for Line of Duty), Brían F O’Byrne (for Little Boy Blue) and Jimmi Simpson (for Black Mirror) Apart from The Boy…, Anupam has also appeared on shows Sense8 and The Indian Detective.
