The Girl On Fire singer’s choice to go makeup free at the recently-concluded MTV Video Music Awards has been met with quite a reaction. Alicia Keys again decided to go makeup free during her appearance on a talk show on Friday. Alicia took the stage to explain that, positive or negative responses aside, she’s just being herself.
She also made it clear that she is not aversed to cosmetics. “Look, I love makeup too. It’s about how you feel. It’s about just being who you are and not letting anyone tell you who you should be. Even this conversation shows our obsession of the standard we hold women,” she said.
The Grammy-winning singer then gave anchors on the show the confidence to remove their own makeup on national TV, reported EOnline.com.
“We each have something that no one else has and it’d be so amazing to just embrace each other how we are,” Alicia added.
